Beijing Whitehead international kindergarten is a private kindergarten.It was founded by Yan Xiaoxia,and established in a waste Printing Plant with small floating population which was situated at remote location in July 2014.However,in a short period of 3 years,it has a rapid growth in the number of children,and gets a favorable comments from parents and society,and attracts many domestic and foreign scholars to visit.The main reason is that Yan Xiao xia combine 36 years of preschool education experience with Whitehead’s process philosophy thought and educational thought concerned.Whitehead international kindergarten has explored its own path in the curriculum development and teaching.This kindergarten has explored a kind of ecological teaching in the course of teaching.It was pursuing romance,ecology and experience in the course of curriculum development as well.Beijing Whitehead international kindergarten solved some problems in the curriculum development and teaching of kindergarten.The author conducted a two month observation study at Whitehead International Kindergarten in Beijing.Through observation,it is founded that the kindergarten’s curriculum development is conducive to provide some solutions for the problems of kindergarten curriculum in China.The expectation of this study is to provide information for further development of other kindergartens.This study is divided into four parts,which are four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,mainly discussing the research background,literature review,concept definition,research significance,research contents,research methods and innovations.The second chapter mainly discusses the theoretical foundation of Beijing Whitehead International Kindergarten curriculum development.The theory is based on Whitehead’s process philosophy,namely,the principle of process,nexus,the theory of prehensions,the principle of creative,and Whitehead’s educational thought,namely,intellectual development rhythm thoughts and contact learning theory.The third chapter mainly discusses the problems of kindergarten curriculum in China.There is a lack of penetration and integration among objectives in China,and there is a phenomenon of neglecting of generative goals in kindergarten curriculum objectives.The researchobject of the curriculum of kindergarten is mostly primary school and a large part of the integration of content is the combination of areas.Preschool curriculum implementation neglects the phenomenon of children’s subjectivity and ignores children’s practice.The practical operation of formative assessment lags behind theoretical understanding.Whether negative evaluation is dominant in informal evaluation.The fourth chapter discusses the solutions put forward by Beijing Whitehead International Kindergarten —— the pursuit of romance,ecology and experience.Kindergarten curriculum objectives should reflect organic connection and dynamic flexibility.The selection of kindergarten curriculum content should pursuit romance and return to life.Besides,the organization of the curriculum content should seek for organic integration.Kindergarten curriculum implementation gives children freedom of action and thinking as well as the pursuing of contact experience.Kindergarten curriculum evaluation should improve the formative assessment ability of teachers.It also pursues the integration of positive and negative evaluation.
