| Along with the global economic integration developing rapidly, market competing increasingly, and people demanding more and more, the products are developing on the way of diversification, high quality and individuation, which put higher pressure on manufacturing technology and production management of enterprise. Lean Production, especially the Value Stream Mapping (VSM), is one of good solutions to improve enterprise core competition, and now is used widely in many enterprises. Using VSM in an enterprise has many advantages, such as eliminating waist, shortening lead time, improving customer’s satisfaction, reducing production cost and improving quality. The article designed and studied application of VSM on South Pratt&Whitney Aero-Engine Company Ltd (SPWAEC). There are main works and outputs showing below.(1) It is necessary for SPWAEC to perform VSM, after analyzing external competition environment and internal management situation by using Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model.(2) Based on the real production situation of Shaft line and relevant theory of VSM, collected the production data systemically. The article introduces the method for mapping the current status of Shaft line, identifies the waste in the production,(3) Then after deeply analyzing seven requirements of VSM: Takt time, Finished goods strategy, Continuous Flow, Pull System, Schedule Only One Point, Pitch, Interval, the article designs a suitable Future Status Mapping for Shaft line. The author creates a rapid production balance model for multi-products and small batch production while customer’s demands change frequently.(4) Finally, the article also introduces the measure to ensure enterprise doing VSM well and how to evaluate the result of VSM.The author highly recommends this article to the company with multi-products and small batch production for reference. It is helpful for manufacturing enterprise doing VSM also. |
