In the modern business management, the competition between enterprises had changed from the simple competition of the price and quality to the competition of the supply chain management, while the supplier management is one of the key points of the supply chain management. IS company, as a branch of a foreign invested company, located in the concentrated machinery manufacturing city Ningbo. The main business contains the following two parts: one is the spare parts of big equipment for industrial solution, most of them are outsourced, and the other part is the spare parts for wind solution, mainly home production. Compared with other local machinery manufactories, the price of IS company is higher than the others, based on its specialty. In this paper, it introduces the relative theories and methods of supplier section, supplier classification and relationship management, and supplier performance appraisal and incentive mechanism, combining its current developing strategy and character, researches the problems of this company according to the questionnaire survey and data analyses. The current problems include: it's lacking of standardization for supplier selection, the supplier sort management is too obscure and the relationship is not stable, and the supplier's performance appraisal is not complete as well as being in short of incentive measures. Regarding to the problem of lacking of standardization for supplier selection, our improving solution is change the ways of supplier selection and establish an effective supplier evaluation team, choose logically and quantize the contents and indicators of supplier evaluation, and make us of the technology to evaluate the suppliers effectively; regarding to the problem of supplier's performance appraisal and incentive mechanism, our measures are building the supplier's daily performance appraisal and strengthen the communication and feedback about performance appraisal, meanwhile, adopt the incentive mechanism, such price incentive, orders incentive, payment incentive, information and participation incentive, reputation incentive, as well as elimination and demotion incentive; regarding to the relationship management with suppliers, our improving solution is to enhance the classification management of the suppliers, sorting the suppliers to strategic partners, bottleneck suppliers, leverage suppliers and conventional suppliers, at the same time, we emphasize the relationship with the suppliers and respectively divide them to be strategic relationship, interdependence relationship, cooperation relationship and normal relationship.
