Construction industry has a good development prospect, which is closely related to the people’s livelihood. Construction enterprises play an important role in the whole construction industry value chain as the project contracting units, which is the important responsibility of the construction project. Construction project management is the core of the value of the construction enterprises, no good management, there is no good benefit. Process management takes improving efficiency and creating value as the direct goal, customer satisfaction and product orientation. Using the process of construction project management can standardize the management system, form orderly management mode, to help improve the construction efficiency, reduce the construction cost.As a construction enterprise, H Company has developed a construction project management process and system. However, H Company is poor management in business processes. It has not corrected and optimized business processes, so that the process management tends to be formal. Construction engineering is the core business of construction enterprises. The implementation of construction engineering process management is the only way to improve the competitiveness of H Company. This paper takes a residential building project of the H Company as an example, and puts forward the existing problems in the construction stage and analyzes the problems. Through the research, the actual cost of the project is beyond the target cost in the construction process. After further accounting, found the problem out mainly in the construction materials costs. Based on this, through the analysis of the influence factors of material cost, reading a lot of literatures, in this paper put forward solutions to reduce material costs, optimized the business process, and used standard process management to control the cost of construction materials. The material procurement process, material in-out of storage process and field material management process are improved in this paper. In order to successfully implement process, there are corresponding measures from the aspects of organizational structure, training mechanism and information technology support.
