The Study On Optimization Of EPC Procurement Process In North China Municipal Engineering Design Research & Institute Company

With the rapid development of economy in our country and the international standards lining, the Engineering Project Construction (EPC) becomes more acceptable because of the resources integration and market meets. Till now, great achievements have been made in multiple sectors in our country with the EPC mode and all the design and research institutes are in the transformation to the EPC mode, including the North China Municipal Engineering Design Research & Institute Company.Many problems and troubles appeared with rapid development of engineering companies, such as the procurement process problems. The procurement process is the guideline of the EPC mode. Every section of it is highly important to procurement success. The current procurement process mainly includes procurement planning, tendering and bidding, the procurement contract approval, the payment approval, the payment call, transportation, inspection and procurement summary. The research questionnaires show that the process of procurement and equipments payment are too complicated, and the bidding process is not rigorous. These problems have caused negative effects on the project fluency, speed and efficiency.With the problem of EPC procurement process in North China Municipal Engineering Design Research & Institute Company, the writer using relevant knowledge of project management and EPC mode, making analysis, perfection, simplification and improvement of the procurement process by time trap analysis, for procurement section efficiency, and achievement of project procurement objectives.
