The Relationship Between Park Satisfaction And Recreational Happiness Of Urban Residents

Happiness is an important indicator that reflects people's life quality, which is the earliest involved in the field of positive psychological research. At present, foreign studies have found that satisfaction played an important role on the happiness. While happiness still belongs to a relatively new field in our country. This paper deeply studied the relationship between residents' satisfaction of urban parks and recreation happiness, and enriched relevant study theory. This paper has certain guidance significance to the healthy development of urban parks and the construction of public recreation space in Nanchang.On the basis of summarized domestic and international academic results, this paper took three types of parks of Nanchang as example and conducted a questionnaire investigation to the city park recreationists. By doing some quantitative analysis to the empirical survey data, this paper analyzed whether differences in park satisfaction and recreation happiness of the recreationists who are in different backgrounds, and further explored the relationship between recreationists' park satisfaction and recreation happiness. In this study, the software SPSS19.0 and AMOS20.0 were used to do exploratory factor analysis,variance analysis,correlation analysis, regression analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to the data.The results showed that:(1) the evaluation factors of Park satisfaction scale are consisted of perceived recreation services, perceived environmental quality, supporting facilities and transport accessibility. Recreation happiness scale is mainly including three dimensions: emotional well-being, cognitive well-being and social well-being;(2) In Nanchang residents' satisfaction of urban parks is totally above the average level, recreation happiness is also in the middle level.(3) There are differences in the recreationists' park satisfaction and recreation happiness, especially in the age, occupation and income of demographic profile. And in the recreation behavioral variables, frequency of activities and residence time of different recreationists had significant differences. The recreationists of these three parks had significantly difference in the recreationists' demographic profile(age, education et al) and recreation behavioral variables(recreational way, frequency of activities and residence time et al).(4)There is significant positive correlation between residents' satisfaction of urban park and recreational happiness, the higher recreationist' park satisfaction is, the higher recreation happiness is. It indicates that total recreation happiness is influenced by all four evaluation factors of park satisfaction, and it is particularly affected by perceived environmental quality and perceived recreation service. There are differences on the influence factors of recreational happiness among these there types of parks; the four evaluation factors of satisfaction in urban backbone parks have significant impact on recreational happiness. Recreation happiness of community parks is based on the satisfaction level of supporting facilities and transportation accessibility; recreation happiness of city comprehensive parks is mainly affected by the satisfaction of perceived environmental quality, perceived recreational service and transportation accessibility. Therefore, this paper holds the opinion that urban parks satisfaction can predict recreation happiness effectively. Based on results and the perspective of recreational geography, this paper put forward to some suggestions that are used to improve the urban residents' recreation happiness in Nanchang. It's necessary for the Municipal institutions and park managers to pay attention to the recreationists' leisure life, because there are differences in the park satisfaction and recreation happiness of recreationists who are in different backgrounds.
