China's economy has experienced rapid development in the past 30 years, but also paid a heavy price in environment and social welfare. Transforming economic development mode, while reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and environmental pollutants to achieve green growth is becoming the urgent matter. In this situation, it is important to study the evolution mode and measure method of economic green growth. What also makes great sense is to explore the influence factors of promoting the green transition of economic growth path.Based on the decoupling theory, this paper starts from the connotation of green growth to analysis the green growth mode and its influence factors under 3 kinds of different pollution constraints, taking China and 11 OECD countries as research objects. Specifically, there are two main research contents:(1) The paper describes the green growth path of each country. Meanwhile it develops a Green Growth Index (GGI) to measure the trends of Green Growth at national/regional scale. By using this index, the paper defines three categories of green growth path under variable context:absolute green growth, relative green growth and non-green growth. By path description and index construction, different types of growth characteristics will be summarized. (2) This study empirical analysis and compare the impacts of green innovation, foreign direct investment, environmental regulation and the level of urbanization on green growth. The results show that:(1) The 12 countries more or less demonstrated some green features in the past period of time. But in comparison, the differences are more obvious. Specifically speaking, in the same kind of emission constraint, the green growth path and intensity of 12 countries show a certain difference between each other. Take into account the growth trajectory under three kinds of different emissions restriction, the green degree of UK and Finland are highest, belonging to the absolute green growth. The green features of US, France, Germany and Sweden are obvious, basically in absolute green growth or in the transition state from relative green growth to absolute green growth. By contrast, the green level of Italy, Japan and Korea needs to be improved. The green feature in China, Canada and Turkey is still weak. Generally speaking, green growth practices are more successful in advanced European and North American countries. However, China and other Asian countries are still in the exploratory stage in terms of green growth policy, green level of which is relatively weak. (2) In the process of economic growth impact on environment, green technology innovation plays a very important role in promoting green growth. Urbanization also has a certain effect to promote green growth, but the influence on different emissions exist difference. Environmental taxes have negative effect on green growth. However, FDI doesn't have apparent influence on pollution emissions. (3) The EKC hypothesis is verified for each kind of pollution emissions in this paper.
