Analysis On The Inter-generational Income Mobility Of Henan

Based on the China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS)screening and analysis of statistical data,we conducted a study of inter-generational income mobility of Henan Province from two aspects: Firstly,we draw the trend of inter-generational income mobility before through the estimated of Inter-generational income elasticity in Henan province from different angles.Scondly,analyze the mechanism of inter-generational income mobility in Henan Province by constructing a structural equation.The research showed us four results: Firstly,The changes of the inter-generational income elasticity from 1989-2011 period in He-Nan Province is as follows,It is reduced at the beginning,and then gradually increased until 2009,and there has been a slight decreasing trend from 2009,and also the inter-generational income mobility in Henan is weaker than the national averages;Secondly,The inter-generational income mobility in Henan Province showed different situations in case of income,urban and rural,gender,sector,educational background and other differences.It is because they showed us different ways of development between different interest groups.Thirdly,The inter-generational income mobility has been influenced so much by education of Henan Province,The inter-generational mobility of income has also been affected by parents,because the parents can make their children get a better job or career through their wealth and power;Fourthly,Parents transfer their income to their children not only by direct grants,but also by indirect ways like education and make their children have better job opportunity.Last,invest on Social Security will reduce the association between parents and off-springs to improve the inter-generational income mobility of our society.In this article,we analyzed the basic issues of the inter-generational mobility issues in Henan to find out why the inter-generational income mobility in Henan is weaker than the national level and other provinces.The top purpose of my research is to find ways to increase the inter-generational income mobility in Henan so that people in our province will have equal opportunity.That may make our society fairer than before.There are three proposals for our government to make our society fairer based on the analysis above.Firstly,Enhance the educational capacity and consummate the educational mechanism in Henan province so that people in our province will get fair education to be able to have the ability to change their status of income inequality.Secondly,It is not enough to rely solely on achieving education fairly.the government should ensure that residents will have the same chance to get a suitable job after they graduated from school.Thirdly,The Government should enhance the social security system construction as the perfected social security system will play an important role on improving the inter-generational income mobility.
