The Impact Of Inter-Generational Expectation Of Social Mobility On Subjective Well-being Of Residents

In 2017,general secretary Xi Jinping stressed that intensify efforts to safeguard and improve people's well-being and make people's feeling,happiness more rich,more secure,more sustainable at the 19~thh congress of the Communist Party of China.In the current with strong"relationship color"social atmosphere,how does the inter-generational expectation of social mobility affect the subjective well-being of residents?Clarify the influence mechanism that will provide useful reference for improving the level of happiness of the whole society,promoting social progress and building a harmonious society.Based on the CGSS(2010,2013)two-stage micro-data,the article analyzes the impact of inter-generational expectation of social mobility on subjective well-being of residents using OLS+the steady standard deviation and OrderProbit regression model.The empirical study shows that:First,optimistic inter-generational expectation of social mobility can help to enhance the subjective well-being of residents;Secondly,varying degrees of inter-generational expectation of social mobility has great different effect in the subjective well-being of residents.Compared with the individuals whose social status remains unchanged,people with optimistic inter-generational expectations of social mobility have strong power.Therefore,more inter-generational expectations of social mobility and more happiness.Thirdly,Compared with urban residents,the inter-generational expectation of social mobility of rural residents has more significant influence.Compared with female residents,the inter-generational expectations of social mobility of male residents has a more significant impact on happiness.Fourth,people with low inter-generational expectations of social mobility have comparative advantage in the illiterate,primary school education,junior high school and high school education while the people with high inter-generational expectations of social mobility have comparative advantage in Bachelor's degree and graduate degree or above.In order to improve the residents'inter-generational social expectation and promote the subjective well-being of residents:firstly,the background effect should be weakened and the social mobility mechanism should be improved.Secondly,broaden the social mobility channel and increase development opportunities;Third,eliminate gender discrimination and balance group development;Fourth,implement education matching and make full use of resources.
