Leader Integrity's Structural Dimensions?Measurement And The Relationship With The Subordinates' Job Performance:An Empirical Study In Chinese Context

More and more scandals and black-box operations have exposed recently,which arouse widespread concern on the issue of leader integrity.Nevertheless,studies on structure measurement,antecedents and consequences of leader integrity are still in primary stage in academia,and empirical researches in Chinese organization context are rare.The research used general scale development program in management,and discussed the structural dimensions of leader integrity in the context of Chinese organizations.Exploratory factor analysis(N=257)shows that the leader integrity is composed of three dimensions:morality behaviors(5items),consistency between words and actions(5items)and behavioral integrity(4 items).Confirmatory factor analysis(N=258)shows that three dimensions structure model fit the data best.The results show that the revised leader integrity scale has high construct validity and empirical validity,which can be used in Chinese context.In order to explore the relationship between leader integrity,employee trust and subordinates' job performance,convenience sampling method was adopted to collect the paired data of managers(N= 147)and subordinates(N=208)in this paper.With the help of SPSS20.0 and AMOS21.0 statistical software,applying descriptive analysis,correlation analysis,reliability analysis,validity analysis,regression analysis and other methods to test the research hypothesis,the research draws conclusions as follows:(1)Leader integrity has a significant positive effect on subordinates' job performance.(2)Leader integrity has a significant positive effect on employee trust.(3)Employee trust has a significant positive effect on subordinates' job performance.(4)Employee trust mediates between leader integrity and subordinates' job performance.Leader integrity is a constructive behavior,not only needs the attention of scholars,but also the attention of organization.Based on the above conclusions,this study gave some suggestions and countermeasures from three aspects:organization,leader and subordinate.
