In the post-crisis era,the international economic steps into complex adjustment phase,and a new round of industrial revolution and technological change is accelerating.High-tech industry becomes the main fields in which various countries improve the core competitiveness and participate in international competition.The Yangtze economic zone is the strategic reserve after the coastal zone and is known as the "high-tech corridor" of our country.Promoting the development of high-tech industry in the Yangtze economic zone and improving its growth quality are of great significance for our country in the current course of speeding up the transformation and upgrading of industry and cultivate new economic growth pole.Total factor productivity(TFP)is an important indicator to measure the quality of economic growth,and also is the source of economic growth in the long term.Using different measuring methods,many scholars,domestic and aboard,have studied the total factor productivity of various industries.On the basis of previous research achievement,this paper improves the research method.Combing the traditional DEA-Malmquist and non-parametric stochastic frontier model,this paper builds three stage DEA-Malmquist model and adapts multiple inputs and multiple outputs measurement method,given the development characteristics of high-tech industry;meanwhile,isolates the influence of random factor and some important external environmental factors on the results,thus to improve the accuracy and objectivity of the research results.Based on the panel data of nine provinces and two cities in the Yangtze river economic zone,this paper conducts a systematic and dynamic study on the total factor productivity of high-tech industry in the Yangtze river economic zone,on the basis of the measurement of industrial TFP,the paper analysis the changing process,regional disparity and industrial disparity of high-tech industry.Main conclusions are as follows:(1)Random error and the external environmental factors,such as macroeconomic environment,science and technology activity environment,the degree of industrial competition and so on,have significant influence on the evaluation result.The traditional evaluation method can make the results biased.(2)TFP of high-tech industry in the Yangtze economic zone shows obvious fluctuation from 2004 to 2013,but it is rising on the average,which is driven by the technical progress,and the recession of technical efficiency becomes an urgent problem to solve.(3)The provinces and cities in the Yangtze have a large regional disparity in TFP growth and the positive and negative growth coexist.(4)The sub-industries of high-tech industry also have an obvious disparity in TFP growth.The electron and communication equipment manufacturing's TFP got a fastest growth,and the growth of the rest sub-industry presents a negative correlation with its industrial development level and scale.(5)Convergence test suggests that both absolute convergence and conditional convergence exist of the TFP of high-tech industry as a whole in the Yangtze economic zone.
