Material storage shares nearly half the cost of hydropower enterprise and keeps the power materials. Effective warehouse manage can help the enterprise improve the efficiency of warehousing operations, reduce storage costs, ensure the production of electricity safety. Slotting optimization is one of the essential parts of Warehouse operation and management and plays a key role for improving the efficiency of warehousing operations. Placing tens of thousands materials by experienced method causes some problems, e.g. low utilization of warehouse space, low efficiency of cargo delivery, high storage cost. Which will not only affect the power production safety, but also restrict enterprise development over the long term. Therefore, how to optimize the slotting distribution combining the characteristics of material in hydropower is imminent. Based on this, this paper takes the hydropower enterprise logistics center as the research object, to study the slotting optimization in storage space. The main content of this paper is as follows:Firstly, this paper researches the problems of warehousing slotting optimization from the whole view. Through the further studying of uniqueness of hydropower enterprise storage materials, slotting optimization problems and analysis, we obtain the key issues which should be solved imminently. Then according to a comprehensive study of the cargo storage strategy, material classified method, storage area placed method, slotting optimization method and combining the material standard of hydropower enterprises, this paper proposes the revised storage strategy which based on the dedicated storage strategy and class-based storage strategy.Secondly, researching the layout optimization scheme of all kinds of material storage area of the logistics center of the hydropower enterprise. According to the theories of facility layout and combining the uniqueness of hydropower enterprise storage materials, this paper establishing a multi-objective model of minimizing the carrying costs, improving the relationships of the storage areas and maximizing the utilization of warehouse space. And chooses genetic algorithm to solve this model.Thirdly, researching slotting optimization scheme of all kinds of materials in the storage area. Based on the optimization of the layout of all kinds of material in storage area, this paper establishes a multi-objective model of improving the carrying efficiency, guaranteeing the stability of shelves and balancing the workload of each roadway. Then sets up different weights for different objects in the model adopting expert evaluation method based on the materials' characteristics, and chooses genetic algorithm to solve the slotting optimization model.Finally, this paper applies the conclusion to W company showing that the algorithm ran stably and the model was practical and effective.
