As the global economy gradually transfer from industrial economy to service economy, the rapid development service industry and its core producer services has become pillar industry in national economy of many countries.China is under its key period of adjustment of industrial structure, developing productive services has become the major trend to promote the economy upgrades. There has been a significant producer services agglomeration in Yangtze River Delta region, one of the most competitive and fast growing areas of China. The development of producer services is contributing to optimize the industrial structure, reduce regional differences, enhance regional competitiveness and achieve the strategic target of building the Asia-Pacific international gateway.Firstly, based on the new economic geography theory, this paper proposes the theoretical analytical framework and theoretical hypothesis of producer service agglomeration from both industry and regional perspective.Secondly, this paper measures industry agglomeration degree and also examines the evolution of spatial agglomeration of producer services in Yangtze River Delta region by using location quotient, space Gini coefficient,Moran index and other indicators. The results show that producer services spatial agglomeration in Yangtze River Delta is significant from the regional level, and the agglomeration degree of producer services of each industry is different from the industry level. As to the spatial agglomeration mode, the core city of surrounding cities spillover effect is obvious.Thirdly, based on the panel data of 25 prefecture-level and above cities of Yangtze River Delta from 2003 to 2013,this paper analyzes the spatial agglomeration factors on the influence of producer services in Yangtze River Delta by building a spatial econometric model. The results show that both industry and regional perspective factors has significant effect on producer services agglomeration. In industry perspective factors, except manufacturing industry, knowledge spillover, information technology and service industry have positive impact on producer services agglomeration, but manufacturing industry still promotes the agglomeration development of financial services, leasing and business services which have deep industrial relationship with manufacturing industry. In regional perspective, urban scale, spatial correlation promotes producer services, while government scale hinders it.Finally, according to the analysis above, this paper puts forward several suggestions that how to promote the industry agglomeration degree, raise the competitiveness of the productive service industry in Yangtze River Delta.
