S company is a professional manufacturer for producing fluid equipment. Over the last 100 years of development, the company's production scale and popularity in the industry up to the top five and its business has been around the world. S company's products have been widely used in food processing, beverage, beers, dairy and other industries. Due to sharp competition in the market, it has extremely great strategic significance to eliminate waste, save costs, improve the competitiveness of products and service lever by lean improvement. This thesis use operations management Knowledge, industrial engineering, modern management theory and methods, combining with the actual operations of the S company's core business of valve production line to analyze and research on low production, long the production cycle, high intermediate inventory, and product rework and scrap etc. on the production line. First of all, through analysis that S company's production is inconformity to characteristic of multi variety and small batch, the unreasonable layout of the production line and the set-up of process, lack of engineering innovation and etc. Then use the fishbone diagram, value stream mapping and other related tools and methods to analyze the reason of the above problem. Finally, use the relevant tools for lean improvement, adjust the production layout, supplier optimization, process merging, tooling improvement and engineering innovation to eliminate unnecessary non-value added activities in the process of production. Maximize the production modern of mobile and flexible production.Through the improvement of lean manufacturing process implement program, the performance indicators of operation management have been improved. For instance, punctual delivery rate rises from 85.32% to 96.07%. Working hours of pneumatic actuator decreased by 6.58%. The valve production efficiency increased for nearly 6.88%, saving about 2.0615 million inventories. The production cycle was shortened by 3.5 days. All of these are significant for first-pass yield and quality stability.
