Ahlstrom Yulong Specialty Paper Co.,Ltd is a Sino-Finnish joint venture company. Its main products are masking tape paper and medical paper. Annual output of company is around 20000 tons at present. Thus, company has great demand for water,electricity, steam and raw materials due to the production characteristics of paper industry. In order to reduce production cost and improve productivity efficiency, with the guidance of Lean production theory of eight wastes, company has been started analysis the root cause of eight wastes for equipment and process since 2015. Based on the analysis conclusion and relative correct actions, Ahlstrom Yulong retrofitted the ultra- clear filtrate tower system and white water recycle system to decrease the water consumption volume. By analyzing the operational principle of steam equipment and steam pipe-line, We had found the useless the steam equipment parts and discarded these parts. Meanwhile company is also paying a close attention to products quality improvement and other Kaizen activities. Besides to cut down the consumption of the water, electricity, steam, company still focus on the speed up of paper machine running and OEE. Moreover, company had chosen some suitable Lean management tools such as Kamishibai,5S, JIT,Visual management, process management and Value stream mapping to enhance company management level which combine the company management demand and Lean core theory. With successful deployed and implemented these Lean management tools within the company, the employees and managers has been learnt a lot for theoretical essence of Lean and deeply remembered these theories in their mind. These theories built the solid foundation for keeping continues improving at each employee's daily work.The thesis mainly focus on the deep and thorough analysis of the current issues of existing production mode within the company ,and come up with the methods and strategies for necessity of applying Lean production. Under the Lean Production theory,using data analysis, Lean tools and process analysis methodology, meanwhile implement standard operating process, training Lean tools and concept for whole organ-ization and PDCA tool for problem root cause analysis and correct actions. And summarize all the good result of apply Lean at the end of thesis. Also point out the some problems which should be paid attention to while apply Lean production and the area which need to be work on in the future, such as warehouse management and equipment maintenance management.
