Competition circumstances for enterprises have changed profoundly due to globalization and digitalization. With the fierce competition, the profit margin has become smaller and smaller. Since suppliers have great effect on total procurement cost, supplier management has become more and more important to the enterprises. Suppliers'performance directly decides the cost and margin, which is critical to maintain and improve the supply chain performance. The author serves in S company, a leading manufacturing company in power transmission and distribution industry, which provides medium voltage switchgear and circuit breaker. The company was built since 23 years ago and has a sound supplier management system. Facing the changing internal and external environment, the supplier management of S company shows the shortage gradually and brings troubles to the supplier performance improvement afterwards.Firstly, the theories and present status of supplier management, supplier performance management and supplier relationship management are reviewed, relevant process and system in S company are analyzed, thus bringing out the disadvantage of supplier management and supplier performance management in S company. Secondly, combined with S company's own requirement and theories, feasible improvement strategies are proposed. This thesis has a directive significance for the improvement of supplier performance management in S company. |
