The Research Of Efficiency About Food Industry In Zhangzhou

Zhangzhou city, one of "The Chinese famous food city", has the largest number of food enterprises among industry structure, and the only industry of more than hundred billion yuan industrial output value in Zhangzhou city. The development level of food industry in Zhangzhou restricts the economic development of Zhangzhou City, and influences the development of agricultural and sideline, so as the rural economy and the living standard of farmers. However, the development of food industry in Zhangzhou city is increasing more on the scale of the total, but less on the progress of management efficiency to promote the development and quality improvement. Therefore, the research of food industry efficiency in Zhangzhou city is an important and urgent task. This study used statistical analysis and data envelopment analysis method (DEA) to analysis the statistical data from statistical yearbook of Zhangzhou city in recent years, analyses the status quo of the development of food industry and food industrial efficiency, to provide an important basis for improving food industry operating efficiency of Zhangzhou city and the government development planning of food industry.Through the statistical analysis of Zhangzhou city food industryoperating situation from 2013-2015 year, we could conclude several features that food industry scale of Zhangzhou city overall continued to expand, above scale industrial output value and added value grew rapidly profitability improved slightly and industry investment continued to grow. However, there still existed some problems as capital and labor intensity continue to improve, the cost sale of marketing was increasing, the proportion of research investment was still low, the number of high-tech enterprises was less, thus it might be necessary through the research of food industry efficiency to promote Zhangzhou food industry.Based on statistical data from 2012 to 2015, using the data envelopment analysis method (DEA) to evaluate the operating efficiency of the food industry in Zhangzhou City, we could find that the overall development of the food industry was flourishing, but the production and operation state were not balanced between counties. It is necessary to improve the technical efficiency, optimize the allocation of production factors, adjust business scale to enhance the comprehensive technical efficiency.Basic on the above analysis, some suggestions were given for the food industry in Zhangzhou and its counties:increase investment in technological innovation, promote intelligent development, cultivating industry leading enterprises, optimize the food industry structure, innovative talents to enhance the efficiency.
