The Research On Efficiency Evaluation And Optimization Of Coastal City Based On Data Envelopment Analysis

In recent years, many cities have boom investment in the tourism industry, especially some coastal cities.so the research on the efficiency of urban tourism is more and more important.In the past literature, Scholars study the efficiency of urban tourism less,especially in the empirical efficiency of coastal cities.In this paper, on the basis of summarizing the existing research,and combine with the actual situation of coastal city tourism industry,building a relatively complete and direct evaluation index system, benefit to improve the accuracy of the results and deepen the study of urban tourism efficiency problem.In this paper,reference the results of urban travel and tourism research,select the workers number of tourism, fixed assets of star hotels and scenic spots etc nine input indexes and the number of tourism and tourism income two output indicators,building a city tour efficiency evaluation index system based on actual situation of coastal cities. Use DEA-BCC model to evaluating the travel efficiency of 11 main coastal cities in china.From the comprehensive efficiency, technical efficiency and scale efficiency three aspects has carried on the appraisal analysis.Finally,introduced DEA-Malmquist index method to calculate and analysis the total factor productivity index of the city tourism industry changes, reveals the trend of urban tourism and decomposition from the dynamic change. according to the research conclusion,give some suggestions.The main conclusions of this paper are:(1) 11 main tourism coastal cities keep a high level in efficiency of urban tourism the selected 11 cities in the 02-11-year average of 10 years of total tourism overall efficiency is 0.903.(2) the efficiency of tourism in business driven cities is higher than sightseeing driven cities. Although natural tourism resource endowment of business-driven cities is not high, but rely relying on its strong economic strength, have created a strong business environment and modern artificial tourism tourism products, tourism-driven efficiency values higher than tourist city.(3) Scale efficiency is the key factor impact efficiency of coastal cities tourism.In the study period,11 coastal tourist city technical efficiency to maintain a relatively high value, overall average up to 0.986. By contrast, in terms of scale efficiency poor performance, the overall average of 0.917.(4) The situation of redundant in Qingdao and Dalian is very serious. According to research into the study of redundancy cities analyzed, obtained in Dalian and Qingdao in the tourism industry, the hotel fixed assets, greater redundancy into tourist resorts and other aspects of fixed assets generated.(5) Technical efficiency and scale efficiency are main factor which promote the coastal city tourism total factor productivity.The average coastal city tourism type TFP index of 1.094, indicating that after 10 years of development,11 coastal cities overall efficiency type of tourism has been a certain growth potential productivity, science and technology application level, the tourism industry scale a reasonable degree are improved. Among them, the technological progress and scale efficiency improvement is the main driver of growth in total factor productivity index.In addition, limited by subjective and objective factors such as the complexity of the research and the lack of data,there are many shortage needs improvements,especially the evaluation index.study time and research object is not very complete,hope to improve in subsequent research.
