With the development of economic globalization, the competition among the enterprises is more and more severity, so it's very hard to meet the increasingly fierce competition in the society and the the needs of market diversification by the enterprise itself. Mr. Christopher, a famous expert of supply chain management, once said:"The 21 century competition was not between business and business, but between supply and supply." The competition among enterprises is no longer a pure competition among individual enterprises, but the competition of the whole supply chain, So the entire supply chain determines the competitiveness of the enterprise. In the whole supply chain system, the downstream supplier of the enterprise is an important part of the supply chain, so if all of the Suppliers can guarantee both quality and quantity to meet the enterprise demand or not determines the pros and cons of the entire supply chain. Therefore, together with the development of themselves, the enterprises also need put more resources to manage the downstream supplier and help them grow up to enhance the competition of the whole supply chain, and then enhance the competition of the enterprise itself.The main content of this paper is the research of supplier management strategy in supply chain. The author is work in the Purchasing Department of H Elevator company, and main work including supplier selection and management, and new product development and trial production, and supplier evaluation, supplier assessment and other analysis. Through these daily works, find out the problems existing in the supplier management as following:Poor supplier competitiveness, and supplier evaluation system can not reflect the actual supply level of the supplier, and incentive and control measures to the supplier are not perfect and so on. According to the problems found in the analysis of the status quo, we can establish a reasonable supplier evaluation system through optimization the process of supplier development, and realize the management of supplier controlling, and helping, and ratings and classification through the assessment system.
