Composites have been widely used in the fields of construction and aviation.However,the safe usage of these composites can be affected by ice and snow.Therefore,deicing quickly and effectively is very important to the application of composites.The commonly deicing methods nowadays are introduced in this paper.A new fabric reinforced composite with heating function which will prevent the effects of snow and freezing weather on buildings and aviation if used for the surface of the roof of the buildings and the fuselage and wings of aircraft is designed and trial-produced based on thermal melting method.Fabrics with heating function are weaved.Four kinds of heating elements including carbon fiber of 12K,6K,3K and constantan wire are chose and five distributions proportion of heating wire are designed.Then the composites that the fabrics compounded with unsaturated polyester resign are charged with electricity.The distribution and the influence of temperature of composites are tested and analyzed.The factors of temperature changes of composites include the types of heating wire,power value,heating time and the distribution proportion of heating wire.The tensile properties of composites made of 12K carbon fiber and constantan wire with the ratio of 1:3 distribution of heating wire and glass fiber weft yarn are tested and analyzed.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The temperature distribution of the composite depends on the position of the heating wire.The temperature transfers from the heating wire to the blank on the surface of the composite.The temperature of the composite is symmetrical distribution along weft direction,serrated distribution along warp direction,gradient distribution relative to the center position of the diagonal direction.(2)The temperature of composite made of different heating wires is different under the same power,but the difference of the value is small.It is positive linear correlation between electric power and composite temperature.On the same conditions,the higher the power,the higher the temperature of composite.The temperature of the composite increases rapidly in a short period of time with the increase of the conduction time.Then it gradually increases slowly and tends to be stable.When the power is the same,the temperature of different distribution proportion of heating wire in composite is close to each other.The more intensive of the distribution,the more uniform of the temperature is.(3)Comparing with no heating wire glass fabric reinforced composite,the tensile strength of the composite with heating function changes little,and the tensile modulus decreased apparently.The tensile strength of the composite with heating function decreases with the increase of the conduction time,and the tensile strength of the constantan wire composite decreases faster than carbon fiber composite.But it almost has no effect to the tensile modulus of the composite with heating function.Considering the thermal properties and tensile properties of the composite with heating function,12K carbon fiber can be selected as the heating wire in the composite with heating function.On the condition of 8 yarns per 10cm of the density of the heating wires,12K carbon fiber can be the weft yarn alone with glass fiber interval woven into fabric used in the deicing composites of the construction and aviation fields.
