With the development of economic,Environmental Problems become more and more serious and attract people's attention,the relationship between Economic Growth and Environmental Pollution has become the focus research of Population,Resources and Environmental Economics.China's fast-growing economy has brought about the contradiction between Economic Growth and Environmental Pollution.Shaanxi Province,as the leading province of western development in China,is also faced with the dilemma of Economic Growth and Environmental Protection.What is the relationship between economic growth and environmental pollution,how to balance the economic growth and ecological protection?It is an urgent problem needs to research and solve.This paper focuses on the relationship between the economic growth and environmental pollution.Choosing Shaanxi Province as the research area,select the corresponding index of economic growth and environmental pollution,construct the VAR model,according to empirical analysis to reveal the relationship between different pollutants and economic growth,easily recognize the current situation,known how to promote and develop the economy and environment in Shaanxi Province.In this paper,the Per capita GDP is selected as the Economic Growth index,Industrial Waste Water Discharge,Industrial Emissions,Sulfur Dioxide Emissions and Industrial Solid Waste Emissions are selected as the Environmental Pollution indicators.The VAR Model is established by using the data from 1991 to 2014,and the relationship between Economic Growth and Environmental Pollution is analyzed by Generalized Impulse Response Function and Variance Decomposition Method.The selected data in this paper satisfy the stability and Johansen Cointegration Test,and the model is stable.The empirical analysis shows that there is no obvious Environmental Kuznets Curve in Shaanxi Province.In the selected pollution indicators,only Industrial Waste Water Emissions and Per-capita GDP has an inverted U-type relationship,Sulfur Dioxide Emissions and Per capita GDP has a similar N-type relationship,Industrial Emissions,Industrial Solid Waste Emissions have linearly relationship with Per-capita GDP growth.The study also argues that Economic Growth has contributed to the growth of Environmental Pollution.The growth of Environmental Pollution has also contributed to Economic Growth.However,the impulse response of Environmental Pollution to Economic Growth is far greater than the impulse response of Economic Growth to Environmental Pollution.The variance decomposition results show that the contribution of pollution emissions to economic growth forecast variance is small.The contribution of industrial Waste Water Discharge is the highest,followed by Sulfur Dioxide Emissions;Industrial Waste and Industrial Solid Waste Emissions contribution value is almost negligible.Shaanxi Province has to face the double facts of economic backwardness and serious pollution.To achieve leapfrog development,we must vigorously promote economic growth and optimize the industrial structure while paying attention to pollution control,And concerned about the fragile ecological environment,to prevent environmental pollution in the direction of irreversible development.
