Considering solar energy generation as well as wind power generation with randomness,volatility and other issues,the use of energy storage technology is needed to suppress the instability of the power generation system.The energy storage technology is also used in the energy recovery system.Flywheel energy storage system has many advantages including instantaneous power,long life,fast response and etc.The energy storage and energy release control methods of flywheel energy storage system are studied in this paper.First,the composition principle of the flywheel energy storage system and the mathematical model of the permanent magnet synchronous motor in the three-phase stationary coordinate system and the two-phase rotating coordinate system are studied.Then,the space vector pulse width modulation technique and its control strategy are analyzed.The basic voltage vector action time and the voltage space vector switching point are given.The energy storage and release control method of the flywheel energy storage system is developed and the mathematical model of the PWM rectifier is given.Moreover,the average rotor speed position estimation method and the average rotor acceleration rate and initial speed position estimation method of the Hall position sensor are proposed.The hardware and software of the flywheel energy storage system are designed.Hardware design includes the system main circuit design,control chip selection and design,voltage and current detection circuit design and isolated driving circuit design.The software design includes the main program design,the capture interrupt design,the timer interrupt design,the controller program flow chart design and the space vector pulse width modulation program flow chart design.The flywheel energy storage system is simulated.The simulation model of flywheel energy storage system is established by Matlab,and the position estimation method,the energy storage process and energy release process are presented.The simulation results show that the system with average rotor acceleration rate and initial speed position estimation method provides good performances and the system can reliably store and release energy.
