Remembering a large number of characters in a short time for the foreign students is difficult, but the characters have rules. In this paper, based on the previous teaching methods analyze characters in xin shiyong hanyu keben, using character component in teaching Chinese characters to teach the primary students. The aim of this article is using two cases to teach the characters in xin shiyong hanyu keben.This paper consists of six chapters: the first chapter is the introduction, describes the basic theory and the current status of the teaching of characters, this paper adopts the methods of observation, case study method, analysis and other methods to study the advantage of the character component in teaching Chinese characters.The second chapter is the theoretical basis of this paper, introduces the definition and separation principles of definition and classification, component parts of the teaching method, proving the accusations from the origin of Chinese characters and the psychology. The third chapter analyzes the differences of the primary level students from learning objective, age, personality, combined with the book to make the teaching time, the overall design principle, and the teaching order. The fourth and fifth chapters use the cases to teaching Chinese with the independent courses to stimulate students' interest in learning, to teach the “mouth”, “female”, “people” and “language”. Teaching case(two) mainly study ideographic component "water” and “walk”, “hand”, " heart” and the phonetic component of “green” “horse” let students establish part consciousness, make full use other rules of Chinese characters. The sixth chapter is the conclusion, summarizes the advantages and the disadvantages of character component in teaching Chinese characters. The disadvantage is will increase the burden of memory, but it is more helpful for students to remember Chinese characters for the long term. This paper provides a way for the xin shiyong hanyu keben 1, I hope it is helpful for the teachers and students which use this textbooks.
