The teaching of Chinese characters is an important part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, but only valued until 1990 s.This makes it far lags behind that of other language elements, so it's difficult to learners to learn it.At the same time,a lot of characters with similar form, make it more difficult to learn. Especially in the initial stage, the learners' understanding of Chinese characters is ignorant. So the study of these characters has important significance.In this paper, questionnaires investigation was taken to test the foreign students'ability to identify and write characters with similar form then take error analysis.The Chinese characters are from HSK vocabulary (grade 1 to 4), easily confused by foreign students, about 88 couples.According to the structure type and distinctive features, single characters are divided into two different classes:the same number of strokes and different number of stokes;compound character are also divided into two different parts according to the numbers of parts.Through the questionnaire survey, investigating students'situation about learning Chinese characters with similar form.According to how to memorizing Chinese characters, analyze the main reason for the students'errors:1. Change to visual habit;2. The brain is not already to the processing of Chinese characters. According to the results of the survey analysis, put forward the teaching strategies.Single characters trace to the source based on the difference of strokes,analysis of components to compound character.Finally, combining the results of the survey and analysis of the characters with similar form,put forward to suggestions about teacher's teaching methods, students learning strategies and teaching materials design.The teacher should teach according to the source,in the context to improve teaching effect. Students should have the consciousness to use the strategy such as memory strokes, induction.Teaching materials should consider the actual situation of students'learning, arrange reasonably.
