Farewell poems has always been the medium of men of literature and writing to express their grief of parting and real sentiments. It is not only an important part of Chinese ancient poetry, but also reflected in the Japanese Chinese poetry. The major poet of Heian era, Sugawara no michizane, his farewell poems show his important position in the field of Japanese Chinese poetry in emotional expression and artistic characteristics.
