"Xunzi" Assists Verb Research

There are a group of words belonging to verb and has its own particular grammatical feature,which is the auxiliary verb.The auxiliary verb is a group of words that attract scholar to concern and study.In a long period of time,its' definition,classify,range and grammar function all have different ideas in the field of grammar-tics.In the past time,the research of the auxiliary verb in the works of Xunzi is just confine to its' meaning and example all the sentences.This essay at-temple to make a tentative study on the auxiliary verbs of the works of Xunzi.In this essay,writer will analyze all the auxiliary verbs and make the known of the fundamental situation on the grammar and semantic of Chinese auxiliary verbs in the late of ZhanGuo to readers.So will afford profitable reference for the study of the history of Chinese.This essay includes following six parts:The first part is introduction.In this part,the essay makes an abstract of the situation of Xunzi and the research about the linguistics study of the works of Xunzi.In the first place is the introduction of Xunzi and the works of Xunzi,and also introduce the compilation,edition and annotated of this book.Then introduce the linguistics study of the works of Xunzi and also summary ideas in the recent years.The second part is �the auxiliary verbs and the research methods of the auxiliary verbs in the works of Xunzi�.In this part we give a brief introduction of the auxiliary verbs including following concept : its name,its parts of speech,its position in the phrase system,the structure of �auxiliary verb+V�and the research methods of the auxiliary verbs.Moreover,we present our own standpoint in the contrast.And we confirm 15 auxiliary verb in the work of XunZi.The third part is �the grammar and semantic feature of the auxiliary verbs in the works of Xunzi.�In this part,the essay classifies the auxiliary verbs in the works of Xunzi and divides these into four group:the auxiliary verbs of Possibility,the auxiliary verbs for wish,the auxiliary verbs to ought to and the auxiliary verbs to passive.It also details analysis on the usage of every single auxiliary verbs,putting emphasis on the type of sytantical structure in which every auxiliary verbs appears and sort out the system of the auxiliary verbs in the works of Xunzi in some degree.The forth part is �compare the auxiliary verbs in the works of Xunzi in the function of grammar.�The essay differentiate the auxiliary verbs of the similar meaning in syntactic,semantics and pragmatics and analyze the auxiliary verbs into four parts,and find out that the auxiliary verbs is an organic system.The fifth part is �analyze the usage of the auxiliary verbs in the works of Xunzi and compare the auxiliary verbs in the works of Xunzi with Si Shu in the per-qin and Shi Shuo Xin Yu.In this part analyze the usage the auxiliary verbs in the works of Xunzi by using the form.And analyses and research the grammar features which modify the auxiliary verbs into negative and the double negation.Besides compare the use frequency of the auxiliary verbs in the works of Xunzi with SiShu in the per-qin and Shi Shuo Xin Yu,and discover whether there are some changes of the auxiliary verbs from remote ages to the middle ancient times,and try to explain the changes from the standpoint of pragmatics.The sixth part is conclusion.In this part,make a summary on the basis of analysis from previous paper.The application of the auxiliary verbs shows some imbalance.The system of the auxiliary verbs has already formed from per-qin to the late ZhanGuo and it developed from per-qin to the middle ancient times.And�auxiliary verbs+V� is the important structure standard to judge the auxiliary verbs.
