Guangzong dialect belongs to Shijiazhuang, Xingtai part of JiLu Mandarin, and is also in the transition zone of Jilu Mandarin and Zhongyuan Mandarin. Compared with Mandarin, Guangzong dialect has its own features in terms of the phonetic system, especially for the initial consonant.Based on the practical survey of the local dialect, differences of consonant system between Guangzong dialect and the Mandarin will be analyzed and discussed in this paper. There are three main characters in initial consonant.1. Guangzong dialect still retains the sharp opposition groups……Jian Yin [t8 t?h ?] vs Tuan Yin [t(?) t(?)h (?)].The words of 'jian' group have been completely changed into Tongue tone. The words of 'jing' group have not been completely changed into Tongue tone.Guangzong dialect is now in the evolution of Jian Tuan Yin confluence and shows the imbalance especially the differences of geographical distribution and age.2. The present pronounces of ancient Ri-consonants:the characters of the ZHi Zu with the medial[u](division ?) are pronounced as [(?)], all of the other Ri-consonants are pronounced as [(?)], [1] or zero initials.3. The present pronounces of ancient Yi Ying-consonants::those zero initials words from ancient YiMu words and ancient YingMu words are pronounced as [?], such as "ai" which is from YingMu is pronounced as [?ai] in Guangzong dialect.Affected by the Mandarin, Guangzong dialect is slowly moving closer to the Mandarin, especially in the literary pronunciation. However, it still has its own characters in the colloquial pronunciation.
