This paper adopted the action research on the time management of middle-aged professional women by using qualitative methodology. Three rounds of in-depth interview (90 minutes for each) were made with three middle-aged professional women who manage own time effectively through convenient sampling method. The main purpose is to discuss the current situation of the use of time among middle-aged professional women, the characteristics of those middle-aged professional women who are good at time management, the factors that influence the time management of middle-aged professional women, and the effective strategies of time management.Based on the analysis of the concrete situation and category of the reference sources, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Time using status of middle-aged professional women:arriving early on weekdays, weekends with his family and working full time, disposable less free time.(2)In middle-aged women, the characteristics of effective time management include:strong executive ability, good communication, work life balance.(3)The factors that affect middle-aged professional women time management include two aspects:internal factors and external factors. Internal factors mainly include personality, ability, character, habits, interests, etc. External factors mainly include task difficulty, the requirements on social support, the outside world.(4)This research puts forward the effective time management strategies:GTD time management, universal laws of rema, second quadrant execution of work, cutting off, etc.(5)This study finally concludes that the role conflict leads to middle-aged women time stress; the personality is associated with the time management significantly; the self-management is the core of the time management; the early action is the key to the time management.
