Interpersonal communication ability is one of the most important college students basic ability, excellent interpersonal skills can help college students adapt to the social environment, cope with psychological crisis, promote physical and mental development, build self-confidence and complete their studies smoothly etc. But there is in part interpersonal disorder in most College Students, such as how to deal with the contradiction with classmates, how to relate to the opposite sex, how to adapt the group living, how to handle the relationship with teachers,which need to be solved by improving their interpersonal skills and establishing a good interpersonal relationship.This study treats college freshmen as objects,whoes interpersonal problems stand out, combins principle of humanistic psychology, positive psychology concept,mode of peer counseling and group psychological counseling techniques, establish an interactive, mutual peer interaction mode among college students, do experimental study on students interpersonal skills to explore how does co-counseling affact the freshmen interpersonal relationships.The study use the research scheme of experimental group and control group, adopts the "Interpersonal relationship scale" as research tools, tests the experimental group and the control group, compares the interpersonal skills difference between two groups, during the study, 164questionnaires were issued and 130 valid questionnaires were collected.Conclusions:(1) According to the school rules and characteristics of the freshmen, based on positive psychology, we put forward a model of peer counseling, which includ:training peer helpers, peer group counseling, peer counseling, special peer activities, peer counseling publicity.(2) Comparison of before and after the experimental class and the control class test results shows peer counseling model effectively improves the freshmen interpersonal skills.(3) There are significant differences among students from different areas, city students interpersonal skills were significantly higher than rural students, but peer counseling do promote the city and rural students interpersonal skills.(4) The different gender students interpersonal skills do not exist significant differences.both are improved after peer counseling mode operation.(5) The only-child and not-only child students interpersonal skills do not exist significant differences,both are increased after peer counseling mode operation.The result shows, peer interaction model constructed in this research has remarkable effect on improving the university freshmen interpersonal skills.
