Xu Zhongxing's Poetry Studies

As a member of Later Seven Masters, Xu Zhongxing'poetry not only embodies the collective pursuit of literature, but also has his individual characteristics. In this paper, the author conducts a comprehensive analysis of Xu Zhongxing'literature thoughts and creations to break the limitations of restoring poetry, all these researches are based on The Poetry of Xu Zhongxing (??????).His personal touch style and more comprehensive attitude will be presented in this paper. The author try to show more accurate and clear positioning of the influences of his poetry creation in Ming Dynasty.This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter focuses on his biographical sketch and circle of acquaintances. The author will study the communication with proteges and hermit, especially the impact on his ideological,while few people study his intercourse in addition to Later Seven Masters. The second chapter mainly probe his concept of literary. His concept of the literature is not simply restoring ancient ways because of his life experiences. Not only the change of dynasties and frustration of official career,but also his teachers and his ideas for Confucianism?Buddhism?Taoism all have an effect on his view of literature. The author research his real thoughts. The third chapter focuses on the content and theme of his poetry.The author divided Xu Zhongxing'poetry into three parts according to different themes, and analyze his differences in mentality as well as his emotional changes. The fourth chapter is the characteristics of his poetry, including the using of allusion which is the most commonly technique. The author integrate his thoughts of literature and his life experiences which have a significant impact on him to analyze the artistic feature of his poetry. The last chapter aims to his prose creation, as few people pay attention to Xu Zhongxing'prose. The author summary of the characteristics of his prose by means of studying various literary form and poetry. In this paper, the author show a more comprehensive picture of characteristics of Xu Zhongxing' literature. On the basis of the study, the author intend to re-examine the value of his creation.
