The Ming Dynasty practiced imperial clan enfeoffment system and it became a custom in the early Ming Dynasty, according to the affinities packet the male of the clan to eight grades,just as prince,etc.The Prince is in the lofty status, they enjoy many privileges in the political, economic, military and other aspects in the Ming Dynasty.The palace of a feudal prince has a complete set of bureaucracy, including civil service system,military attache system and lord high steward system.The military attache system is the palace guard command official,each palace has three palace guards for the use of the palace,which is a military force owned to the prince.The prince have palace guard is a regular system in the Ming Dynasty,the introduction of the system is Zhu Yuanzhang for consolidating the results of imperial purposes, including seizing the military power from distinguished person for the foundation of the state,it has an important role in the early Ming Dynasty's political and military history. But due to a series of reasons, the palace guard in the history of the Ming Dynasty is not static, including palace guard duty, at different stages have different development characteristics. The purpose of this paper is through research the evolution of palace guard in the Ming Dynasty, in order to clear the history of the palace guard in Ming Dynasty.Hongwu Period,under the political situation of that time,the princes is a large quantity, they enjoy preferential treatment in the economy, political and military also subject to greater attention, the prince own three palace guard,both the number and the scale of the palace guard are large, the prince has great power,even could control the army,especially in order to defense the Northern Yuan,the prince who are stationed in the north region,such as Prince Jin and Prince Yan,have much more military power.In the late Hongwu Period,due to the Zhu Yunwen is set for crown prince,the prince become serious threat to the imperial power gradually.Therefore, Jianwen emperor conduct comprehensive force to reduce the power of the prince after ascend the throne,one important measure of this is reduce the palace guards, but it also leads to the political upheaval in the early Ming Dynasty——JingNan Battle.Mingchengzu continue to strengthen the restriction to the prince after ascend the throne.After Hongxi and Xuande, although there are exceptions, the new prince has basically no longer grant palace guard, after a protracted reduction the power of the prince, prince in the Ming Dynasty's political and military power has micro almost slightly, at the early Ming Dynasty by prince in control army of the situation has become history, the number and size of the princes in the palace guard are subject to restricted maximum. And the Ming Dynasty palace guard system exists in name only.The boring,exist and evolution of the Ming Dynasty palace guard have a close link with the the politics of Ming Dynasty,especially play different roles between the imperial power and the prince, gives the prince military privilege, give the palace guard, is the need to consolidate the imperial power,cuts the privileges of prince and lops off the palace guard are also in order to maintain the imperial supremacy, the palace guard play an important role between the imperial power and the prince,the peak in the historical trend of the imperial power, as seignior privilege of palace guards gradually demise is historical inevitability.
