Compound directional complement is an important grammar point in Chinese language studying.Its syntactic structures and semantics are complicated,which foreign students are very liable to make mistakes.Based on the research of the Beijing language and culture university HSK dynamic composition corpus and the mediation language corpus of Jinan university,this paper mainly discusses the research to the ontology of "xialai,xiaqu" which has many semantics,guided by the theory of contrastive analysis,the second language acquisition,interlanguge,error analysis,as well as the cognitive learning.Furthermore,we make a specific teaching design from the perspective of the cognitive linguistics.Chapter one is a general introduction of the research background and current research status of "xialai,xiaqu';Chapter two is the ontology of "xialai,xiaqu",including language structures,semantics and pragmatics;Chapter three is the analysis of the causes of the bias;Chapter four we sum up the teaching strategy,including graphic method,cognitive interpretation method,comparative method,inductive method;Chapter five introduces the theoretical bases of the teaching design and analysis the teaching requirements of the outline,then discusses the teaching contents of "xialai,xiaqu",which is mainly aimed at the students at intermediate level.Chapter six is the self-assessment of teaching design and reflection:whether the students are willing to learn the content which the context book didn't have,it's just the requirements of the outline.Besides,the specific requirements of the teachers are given by the use of cognitive teaching method.Moreover,the exercises are relatively not attractive,lacking of task-based activities or games.The innovation point of this paper lies in:In the explanation of the teaching and training section,we strengthen these errors which students often make,including showing the semantic relationship of "xialai,xiaqu" according to cognitive theory,designing the teaching method through the graphic as well as contrasive exercises.
