Language directly express human's thinking and language is the carrier of culture.It is the most closely-related to the culture.As international students learn Chinese in China,they should also understand Chinese culture which is rich and wide,feel the Chinese civilization,etiquette and Chinese local customs,while they are laying a good foundation for their language.Therefore,apart from setting up language skill lessons,colleges or universities should also offer cultural courses which includes the history course for foreign students.The history course is a cultural course designed for foreign students of medium and advanced level.The teaching goal of history course is to enable foreign students to master certain historical knowledge,to understand the development of Chinese history,the change of historical dynasties and to establish a cross-cultural awareness of communication.Nowadays,many colleges or universities provide Chinese history courses and the number of students taking this course is increasing.However,the history course for foreign students has not formed a mature system with a series of problems,including curriculum arrangement,teacher allocation,teaching materials selection,teachers' teaching and students' learning.This paper discusses the necessity,rationality and feasibility of the history course for international students through the investigation and analysis of the history courses,the allocation of teachers and the selection of teaching materials of history courses in sixteen universities in China.Through the questionnaire survey of eight students' history teachers and the classroom investigation of the three history teachers,I can get a comprehensive understanding of the current teaching situation of history course for foreign students,find problems and analyze problems.For students,I examine the learning situation of history class.Through analyzing in two forms of questionnaires and classroom visits,I can statistics the student's feedback,the actual performance and find the problem.Finally,I try to put forward the corresponding teaching principles and teaching methods,so as to provide some reference for the students' history teaching.
