Research On Chinese Novels In The Late Qing Dynasty

The Chinese Laborers Abroad Novels in the late Qing Dynasty is mainly referred to the mainland Chinese people who are away from the homeland for their livelihoods,suffering a tragic life on the way to other countries by ship or the tragic situation in the foreign countries since the Opium war by 1840.These novels are focus on showing the survival condition of overseas Chinese and their miserable condition of the late Qing Dynasty.Embodied in the novel of Qing Dynasty,for instance various of social stratum,Labour in the simple life of the masses and misfortunes,the Qing government’s diplomacy passive and helpless,successful Chinese entrepreneurs and their illegal treatment abroad,also some men of insight to national interests and the joint of groups and their resistance etc.There are three chapters in the article to discuss the Chinese Laborers Abroad Novels in the late Qing Dynasty.The first chapter introduces the phenomenon of laborers abroad in the late Qing Dynasty and its novel creation,mainly tells the story: appearance and reason of the phenomenon of Chinese laborers;ways of Chinese laborers abroad;highlight for the existence of Chinese laborers,Chinese laborers at home and abroad related reports for the study of the carrier;the basic situation of the Chinese novel creation.The second chapter discusses the late Qing Dynasty Chinese workers,showed the unfortunate situation of intellectuals,women showed the life of special situation.The third chapter is mainly from the angle of social to reflect the Chinese novels’ further discussion,and it showed no political identity and independent personality,therefore,Chinese laborers who seeking for political freedom and personality independence struggle,and it can also reflect the opinion to Chinese laborers of others,and the attitude of Chinese laborers,and it involves such as hot boycotts movement,the feminist movement at that time,the angles of literature and history,thus more profoundly understand and know the truth of the law of the jungle.The conclusion discusses the literary value and realistic value of novels.The exploration of Chinese Laborers Abroad Novels in the late Qing Dynasty,with reading it again,is aimed to warn people about something such as national disgrace in the heart and be independent.
