The Dunhuang caves are one of the most significant cultural heritage in the world.The researchers focus on the development of Dunhuang art,in order to explore its value and spread this art to the world.On the first of May 2016,as the first time,the Dunhuang research institute has released the HD digital content and global roaming of the thirteen delicates caves,and will continue building and developing this digital system,which is "Classic Description-Caves Drawing Contemporary Experiences"."Digital Dunhuang" as a vital method,transforms the caves and mural to the digital art,can protect the precious cultural relics.It also indicates that the showing form of Dunhuang art has been released from space bound,it means visitors do not need to go to the caves to enjoy the art,instead of it,"Digital Dunhuang" is more convenient than that.Previously,visitors must go to the lightless caves and usinguse a small LED light to watch the art,bot now the digital technology has changed the visiting forms,it provides a new experience and visual enjoyment.The visiting forms has been changed from the static view to the dynamic view.The animation language has achieved a visual conversion,visitors can enjoy a three-dimensional Dunhuang arts from the flat mural painting.Although the technology provides a multiple visual experiences and restores the texture of the mural painting,it does not enhance the vitality of the art.Animation as a creative method,via character design,scene design,difference shots,and cinematography,can create the vitality of the Dunhuang mural art.When everyone can experience the grand and magnificent of Dunhuang art from a computer or a phone,the animation arts will be an intuitionistic method to present Dunhuang art.From the digital transmission path,animated creation draws the inspiration from the Dunhuang art and completes the recreation achievement,this can demonstrate the attractive charm of Dunhuang culture.Comparing between the"Digital Dunhuang" and animation art,the differences of the visual experience between both makes the animation art as an artistical method to inherit and develop the Dunhuang art.This article will focus on the comparison between two artist forms,Dunhuang mural and Dunhuang animation,that both present different texture beauties,and to examine the relationship between mural,animation texture and visual culture.In today's digital tide,it is not enough to research the visual culture of Dunhuang mural itself,studying the development of Dunhuang animation is more important.This paper will concentrate on texture beauty and explore how Dunhuang animation as a better way to convey Dunhuang art.In animation creation,traditional culture as a surface,classical caves as lines,Dunhuang mural as points,this form can activate the vitalization of mural classical stories.Finally,how to use animation to tell Chinese stories will be discussed.
