As a branch of medical geography, healthography or geography of health has two main focuses: the effects of social environment on human health(both physically and psychologically)and the spatial construction of hospitals and health care settings.Being commissioned, the translator chose Chapter 12 and Chapter 13 of Geographies of Health: An Introduction,Third Edition as the source text. This thesis concerns itself with three important aspects of translation.First, recognizing that if poorly translated the textual coherence will be an obstacle, solutions are given as follows: reconstructing and rewriting from the sentence perspective as well as keeping and reconstructing the logical relationship of the sentence group.Second,on how to deal with the demonstrative pronouns, two main solutions were given: giving their reference meanings and omitting them.Third, attentions are paid to the conceptual meaning and contextual meaning of some vocabularies. And finally,a full conclusion of the whole translating procedure is provided in detail.
