The thesis has made a comprehensive and detailed inspection towards intermediate and advanced intensive reading material of“10-Level Chinese Reading Material".The results are as follows:the theme of the intermediate,the text is mainly based on life and social science topics,the style of the textbook is mainly about narration;vocabulary adopting single English-English explanation,the number of new words is slightly smaller than standard requirements,some words are explained in details while some words are not;although the number of language points are obviously beyond the requirements but they are presented in the form of formula,which is easier for students to remember,the examples are within control;the quantity of exercise is rational,meanwhile the type of questions are relatively fixed and repetition rate is high.The theme of the advanced book is various,but the quantity distribution between subject is not balanced.the style of the textbook is mainly about narration,which satisfices students' learning demands;vocabulary adopting English-Chinese explanation,is below the standard requirements,which reflects the distinctive feature of the words,some words are interpreted in details while some are not.Idioms are the typical feature of advanced textbook,generally speaking the explanation park is rich in knowledge,the number of language points and examples are evenly arranged,and the explanation is simple and rich;the number of the exercise is relatively more,and the type of the questions satisfies the demand of the text,being able to cultivate Chinese language sense.On the basis of the inspection,the thesis puts forward several specific suggestions:first,control the difficulty of the textbook and enrich the theme and the style of the text,and add practical texts for students to recite;second,emphasize important vocabulary,and similar words should be arranged together and meanwhile the explanation should be various;third,control the quantity of language points and form grammar table according to the system of the language points;fourth,add cooperative exercise to stimulate the students' interaction,and decrease the number of the exercise;there are also some other advice such as take the advice of students and teachers into fully consideration;add enjoyment to the textbook,pay attention to the edition design and writing idea.
