A Comparative Study Of Foreign Words In Different Forms Of Cross-Straits

At present,the comparative study of language between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits is unprecedented,and there are many achievements.However,the comparative study of English loanwords is rare.The study of English Loanwords is still relatively traditional at present,which including several aspects,such as classification,borrowing and localization.From the form and meaning of language on both sides of the object to compare are most local Chinese vocabulary,and most focus on the comparative study of "homonym".The research on the "abnormal synonymy" is opposite.In addition,the theme of "English Loanwords" is with smaller scope,the purpose of the study is clearer.The study used methods of modern linguistics,including quantitative and qualitative analysis,statistics,tabulation,corpus method,social linguistics method,field investigation method combined with history and knowledge of culture,sociology and psychology to study cross-strait specific synonym loanwords from English.This paper stands on the basis of previous studies to define the "abnormal" "synonym" "loanword" three concepts from the morphology theory to compare the meaning of word and conversely.On the basis of quantitative analysis,the similarities and differences between English and Chinese loanwords on both sides of the Strait are observed.The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into three parts: "complete abnormity","partial abnormity" and "different color meaning",and combines the three aspects.Based on the theoretical research,the application of English loanwords are analyzed in detail,especially a research into three aspects of translation activities,cultural characters and applications.This study is conducive to further deepen the theory and application of foreign words,address the preparation of cross-strait comparison dictionary,promote the development of cross-strait language.Through the study of this paper,we find that the " abnormal English loanwords" in the two sides of the Taiwan Strait show the trend of the similarity over differences,which is the prerequisite for the development of the language.The main content of the article is divided into five chapters,each chapter is closely linkedThe first chapter is the introduction,this chapter introduces the background of the thesis,which is on both sides in the absorption of English Loanwords through different historical stages.It also introduces the research status of the topic,andresearch methods of the thesis,and answered some difficulties during the writing.The second chapter is the definition,analyze the concept of "Special English Loanwords","special" and "synonym" were explained based on accessing data and references to previous views.Specificly interpret the differences of "alien" and the traditional sense of "alien",illustrated two categories of"complete alien" and "part alien"."Synonym" mainly taken the view of Ge Benyi,and completely answered"what is the shape of English loanwords.The third chapter is the comparison of the cross straits English loanword written form,this is comparison based on the "synonym" and classify "English Loanwords",mainly discusses the difference of equal meaning and color meaning of English Loanwords in writing.In the study,a reference to the research of Taiwan Zhu Jianing for inspection.The results of the study is that English Loanwords do exist many aliens.part alien is more than complete alien in number.Take the English Loanwords in writing-character difference,more show one word,two words.This situation shows that the two sides are under the same language background,loanword borrowing actually are interlinked,the similarities of cross-strait language is a prerequisite to achieve unified planning.In addition to the difference between the words,this chapter also simply relates to the two sides compared to the Loanwords from English word length,comprehensive analysis,Taiwan tends to be more simple,especially the transliteration of the word,in the process of translation,Taiwan is easier to cut in the voice,and,"a Chinese character,a syllable" principle is more obvious.The fourth chapter compared the semantics of alien English Loanwords."complete alien" and "part alien" as the basic framework,research the difference of lexical meaning,grammatical meaning and color meaning.The lexical meaning based on comparison of different meanings,analysis the causes of different meanings from the perspective of translation.Most of the different is the color sense,the article classifies the color meaning,the maximum difference is "foreign color" and "local color".These two kinds of color produced is the main translation methods,especially the difference in culture.Through the above research,we believe that Taiwan has more rich local color language,and preserve their native language and Chinese culture has a great relationship,the mainland loanword foreign color is rich,is mainlydue to the openness of translation traditions and language.Finally,we also compared the grammatical meaning.research from the borrowing level,we found that in the grammatical meaning of the difference is not very obvious,we can find examples too scanty,this is not the focus of comparison,but the comparison opened a new field to us in Chinese loanwords.The fifth chapter from the perspective of application to analysis the.from the three aspects of translation activities,cultural characters and application fields analyzed.The article further explains what is the translation activities,and from the two angles of sound domestication translation and alienation that cross-strait translation activities are different,mainly due to the formation of alien English loanwords.Secondly,analysis the characters of culture,mainly from some of the terminology,mainly in the "Chinese Loanword dictionary" as the corpus,explains the transliteration of names words related to culture,drug class words culture,The chemical elements in culture,simple life involves a loanword in culture.The two sides in the English loanwords on the characters of cultural differences also related to the cross-strait political relations,which is discussed in the article.In addition,we from the semantic viewpoint,to synonym loanwords from English Classification of applications,mainly for life,science and technology,products,movies,and other types of names,referring to the whole loanword field,through quantitative analysis,observe the distribution in different areas of the two,the conclusion is that the field distribution of different form of English Loanwords more than the overall distribution,alien English Loanwords closely related to the life and vitality after the retrocession of Taiwan which is relatively strong,relatively large space for development.
