On The Imagery Color Of Dunhuang Murals In The Tang Dynasty

The Dunhuang grotto murals are models of the art works with lyrical colors in the Chinese mural history.The Dunhuang grotto art could touch people's hearts by its impressive lines and colors,and eventually arouse the sympathy of people.People went to the Dunhuang grotto are moved by the art works due to their excellent using of the brilliant colors.The Dunhuang grotto murals had achieved very high achievements in the area of color application,and reached its peak in Tang dynasty.The imagery is the starting point of color configurations of the Chinese traditional paintings.The widely using of the colors to depict the imagery is beyond doubt,which contains Chinese traditional cultural thoughts and lays the foundation of the future development of the paintings.In this paper,the author analyzes the creation thoughts of the Dunhuang grotto murals by explaining the imagery of the art works of Tang dynasty.And specifically,the using of the color,including the color constitution and the color setting methods is presented.And the analyses are combined with the unique aesthetic features of Chinese art works.
