Recently the researches of second language acquisition focus not only on the teaching, but also on students' learning, and vocabulary learning has gradually attracted the attention of scholars. In addition to the specific content of students'vocabulary learning,vocabulary learning strategies become a new research hot topic.This dissertation is based on the researches in China and abroad on vocabulary learning strategies and applies questionnaire and interview to investigate and analyze Chinese Character Zone students and non-Chinese Character Zone students'vocabulary learning concepts and vocabulary learning strategies, aiming to find the similarities and differences in vocabulary learning strategies between international students with different cultural backgrounds, genders and levels of Chinese competency.The study found: (1) on learning concepts, students generally prefer to use context and vocabulary to learn rather than memorization, and the non-Chinese Character Zone students have less vocabulary learning concepts and memory recitation; (2) in the management of vocabulary learning strategies, Chinese Character Zone students prefer to use planning, self-monitoring and self-evaluation strategies; (3)in the vocabulary learning strategies, Japanese and Korean students are more willing to take notes, dictionaries and other memorization strategies; non-Chinese Character Zone students tend to use association, and guessing strategies; (4) for male and female students, there are different management strategies in vocabulary learning and vocabulary learning strategies; (5) with the increase of Chinese language learning ability, vocabulary learning strategies used by international students gradually turn out diversified, and the vocabulary learning strategies are used more frequently.
