Qian Ying Zi tombs are located in the southwest of Huainan City, Anhui Province, about 20 kilometers away from the downtown areas. The northern part of the tombs is the eastern end of the Bagong mountains, about 2 kilometers away from the city of Shouchun which was the capital of Chu State in ancient times.In coordination with the construction of Shangqiu-Hefei-Hangzhou high-speed railway, it takes salvageable preservation precept to this archaeological excavation.Due to the wide division of tombs, the large area of excavation, and the aim to ensure heritage safety and scientific excavation,the work must be done in different areas.The excavated area turned out to be 116 tombs and 1 ash pit, which are in dense distribution and complete shape. However,multiple grave robbery has brought some difficulties in archaeological research. Researchers have divided the tombs into twoAccord to the research, it is presumed that the owners of the tombs were the free aristocrats of the lower social states at that time.Meanwhile, the dutation of those tombs were almost synchronized with the rise and fall of Chu state,which offers some brand new materials for the study of the features of the tombs,the customs of burial and social development at that time. |
