Death euphemism is a common linguistic phenomenon in many languages.This thesis adopts folkloric linguistics and across-subject theory.This work contains five chapters:The summary reviews the researches concerning the Hindi death euphemism and definition of it.And also concluding a brief of mainly used theories in this research.Chapter 1 focus on the essential semantics of Hindi and Chinese death euphemism.Chapter 2 mainly investigates the lexical motivation and the rhetorical device of Hindi and Chinese death euphemism.Chapter 3 discusses two aspects about death euphemism and folk culture.The last chapter analyzes the intertranslation strategies of Hindi and Chinese euphemism,according to language translation issues arose by cultural differences. |
