The Song Dynasty painting Can be described as painting art unprecedented prosperity period,no matter in landscape painting,flower and bird painting or figure paintings are pushed to the peak of the painting development,and flower and bird painting is more prominent.Therefore,this paper takes the flower and bird painting as the study topic.In the numerous flower and bird painters of the Song Dynasty take Cui Bai as the main object of study and make a comprehensive discussion and analysis for his paintings.The development of flower and bird paintings originated in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties,gradually developed by the Tang Dynasty,and gradually to be mature and perfect by Huang Quan and Xu Xi in Five Generation.As the fine and rich painting art of Huang Quan and his highly realistic effect description of object,deeply appreciated by emperor and developed as a model of the imperial painting which result in the follow of painters both inside and outside of palace.Although the flower and bird painting has a larger development,but also caused the later long-term hysteresis and tedium.The conservative style of this period is really reversed when the emerge of Cui Bai and the others,there are many records that Cui Bai reverse the palace painting style of Northern Song Dynasty.It can be seen from "Xuanhe Calligraphic Florilegium",such as the Cui Bai item of Volume eighteen,the Huang Jucai item of volume fifteen and Cui Yi item of article volume eighteen are contained.But his birth and death year has not mentioned,the relatively accurate inference is obtained by analyse the historical documents,for inference,and his life is divided into civil painters and work in imperial art academy two periods.Cui Bai learn widely from others' merits,bring all quintessence into one harmonious whole,for his own use.So his works show the art of painting style not only adhere to the aesthetic taste of the Imperial Art Academy,while take into account the expression of good fortune and heart.From then on,the artistic style of the flower and bird painter,which is mainly based on Cui Bai,has a profound influence on the development of the Song,the Ming and Qing Dynasties,and has a lot of reference and inspiration for the creation of modern flower and bird painting.This paper starts from the three works of Cui 's "Double Happiness","Sparrow in Cold Days" and"Bamboo and Gull",by using the method of comparative analysis to explore the artistic characteristics and artistic achievements of Cui style from the aspects of treatment and change of the form of pen and ink,the styling of the subjective color,the spiritual change in the layout of the chapter,the synthesis and establishment of the creation theme achievement.Analysis of the unique artistic experience through his positive and arduous exploration that in the interrelated of several factors of his life practice,aesthetic consciousness and artistic ability.Especially in the expression form of painting language to achieve the unity of man and nature.In the spiritual pursuit of expression by objects to create a kinds of artistic conception of desolate and few desires in mind,highly fit between mind and nature and painting vivid."Harmony of poetry and painting" in emotion expression,"infinity intention" in artistic conception,"lifelike" in artistic expression and so on.
