In recent years,more and more Chinese texts of Chinese characteristics have been translated into English in response to the call of Chinese culture go abroad.Meanwhile,with the continuous publication of scientific research on Chinese Jewish studies,it has attracted the attention of scholars both at home and abroad as well as the former Jews lived in China.A History of the Jews of Harbin written by Liu Shuang is one of the characteristics.It is an academic monograph that comprehensively react the history and culture of Harbin Jewish.To a certain extent,it makes up for the inadequacy of previous study in the history of the Jews of Harbin and has the positive significance in this field.This time,I will translate the third and fourth chapters of the book,including the formation of modern Harbin and its characteristics and the process and stages of Jews activities in Harbin.Based on the accurate and detailed reappearance of the author Liu Shuang's research results,this translation practice hopes to attract the attention of Chinese and foreign readers to the history of the Jews of Harbin.
