Young Men ' s Christian Association abbreviated as YMCA,was founded in London,England in 1884 and gradually expanded to all over the world.It has also grown and expanded in the United States to become the most developed region in the world.In the spirit of Christ's fraternal love service,she has nurtured the balanced development of youth and children in the fields of morality,morality and the mass through education,culture,sports,arts,camping and community service.By 1889,the International Association of North American YMCAs sent a delegation to Shanghai to meet with foreign missionaries in China and held a cadre conference in Shanghai.The subsequent formation of the China Youth Association was also based in Shanghai.In 1900,the United States missionary founded the Shanghai YMCA to disseminate Christianity as the goal.They began to systematically preach Christianity to the Chinese youth.Both sports and sports Competition,sports theory;held interscholastic sports competitions,all kinds of games.With Shanghai's geographical advantages and the continued support of the North American Association,the Shanghai Youth Federation has launched a wide range of social services,including the promotion of sports,which has attracted many Chinese and foreign people to become members of the YMCA.The Chinese have also started Youth associations are increasingly participating in sports activities in the West.In sports,volleyball and basketball were invented by North American youth sports officials.As for the YMCA,one of the games at the Games includes the hosting of the First National Games of Old China,the Second and the Fifth Far East Games.All these,too numerous to mention.By 1922,before the outbreak of the non-Christian movement,the Shanghai Youth Federation had become the largest urban youth association in Asia.All in all,the YMCA was closely linked with the emergence and development of modern Chinese sports.From the first school sports classes to the sports competitions between schools to the national games and the final international games,the YMCA is the first advocate and practitioner.Before the YMCA there were also sports competitions or sports teams,such as the Church School St.John's College which held track and field events in 1890 but did not have trained and specialized staff.The YMCA promoted sports professionalism,specialization,Socialization,to modern sports direction.
