Research On Emerging Affixes In Modern Chinese

There are four types of language in the world,namely,the isolated language,the agglutinative language,the inflectional language and the complex language.As a typical isolated language,Chinese is lack of rich morphological changes,and word formation is based on "root + root".Along with the changes in society and the development of language,the way of word formation such as root + suffix/type of affix word is becoming more and more common.The affix is fixedly adhered before or after root which represents a part of word formation in grammatical meaning.Affix is a special word composition which is similar to the root but not entirely same.Since in the seventies or eighties of the 20th century,studies of affix have obtained abundant research results,but there is still some disagreement about the scope of affix,definition of affix,characteristics of affix,and so on.Therefore,this paper collected the affix appeared in the "people's Daily"," Shenzhen Special economic zone " and "China Youth Daily" in nearly five years(2012-2016 years),Through analyze,the characteristics of these affixes in three aspects:formation features,semantic features and syntax functions to fully describe the features,production,effection,evaluation,and the development trend,of Chinese New quasi-affixes in the past five years(2012-2016 years).This paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter mainly focuses on the reasons and significance of this topic,the summary of this research on the modern Chinese affixes,the collection and classification of this papers.Through the analysis and summary of existing types of affix research results,we found that the study of the modern Chinese affix is still difficult to be unified,and the case study needs to be balanced.In this paper,using random sampling method,select fresh and rich corpus from the news media in recent five years to,analyze and research class affixes.The second chapter is from these three aspects:the perspective of word formation,semantic feature and grammatical functions to analyze the emerging class of modern Chinese affixes in nearly five-year.Morphological characteristics:first,from the combination of units,some affixes only with monosyllabic morphemes or words,some only with double syllable composition,some can not only be combined with single syllable components,but also double syllables,even Polysyllabic component.Secondly,from a combination of parts of speech,such affixes combined with parts of speech are always based on a certain part of speech and followed by other parts of speech.In terms of semantic features,the meaning of the affix is always reflected in the combination of the root and root,moreover the different root components which are combined with the same affix show the same tendency in the part of speech and semantics.In the aspect of grammatical function:by comparing the grammatical functions of the root components which are combined with the affix,we find that the affix can make the grammatical function of the root components convergence.The third chapter mainly discusses the characteristics and causes of the formation of modern Chinese affixes.This chapter from the five aspects of pronunciation,word formation,semantics,structure and function to describe the characteristics of modern Chinese:non-weakening of voice;the fixed position of word formation;semantic categorization(generalization);Structural adhesion;the productivity of word formation.As for the reason of the affix,this chapter from two aspects:social factors and internal mechanisms to analyze.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the influence and evaluation of the emerging affix in modern chinese.This chapter from the view of modern Chinese ontology and social communication to analyze the affect of modern Chinese affixes,and aimed at its positive and negative effects to put forward an attitud towards emerging class of modern Chinese affixes:on the one hand accept and use it positively,on the other hand regulate the usage of its.Fifth chapter focuses on the developing trend of the emerging class of modern Chinese affixes.Affix is an intermediate state of the development of root to affix,but it can not stay in this state forever,and eventually it will develop into a typical affix,or will revert to the root state.The last part is the conclusion,which summarizes the main contents of this paper.
