Research On The New Quasi-affixes In Modern Chinese

Since the 1990 s,research on the new quasi-affixes in modern Chinese has been prompted into a period of prosperity.In terms of the application of theories, grammaticalization theory is used to study Chinese words-formation and their generalization.In terms of the content of research,overall features and some specific quasiaffixes are both discussed which are involved with criteria of the new quasi-affixes,causes of their appearance and other qualitative and quantitative problems.In terms of research depth,research on the ontology level are gradually combined with research the application level to study new quasi-affixes in detail.In this paper,research on this subject is launched against this background.In the process of this research, the methods of objective description are combined with the methods of theoretical explanation. The methods of synchronic analysis are combined with the methods of diachronic analysis.Some linguistic theories are referred which include the theory of word formation model,the theory of grammaticalization and the theory of sociolinguistics.On the basis of those, new quasi-affixes are studied in detail.Finally,the goals of the research are achieved which inculed features of new quasiaffixes,the appearance and causes of their development.Conclusions are made according to analysis in this paper. On the one hand,a few features of new quasi-affixes are discovered: first, "X+quasi-affixes" words gather into a word family and can generate more new words through analogy;second, the quasi-affixes develop a function which decideds the word class of "X+quasi-affixes" words;third, their sememe are lost seriously and semanteme showing a clear trend of blurring which lead to aseries of change on the scope of application circumstances.On the other hand, internal reasons and external reasons for the emerging of new quasi-affixes are found: analogy mechanism and economic principles linguistics internal factures are important reasons for the emerging of new quasi-affixes;the development of society is the root cause which includes mutual contacts between languages and dialects and the network platform and its media role.Research on the new quasi-affixes contributes to a clearer understanding of the system of Chinese vocabulary, grasp the evolution of Chinese vocabulary, and better implementation of the vocabulary teaching in primary and secondary schools and as a foreign language.
