Experiencing Chinese is an elementary practical textbook written by Jiang Liping,a professor of Beijing Language and Culture University.It is mainly composed of the modules of sentence,word,text,pattern drill,listening and speaking,reading and writing.At present,the research about the textbook is scanty.Therefore,the method of statistical analysis is adopted in the paper to study the compilation of phonetics,vocabulary,grammar,text and exercises in Experiencing Chinese.At the same time,the textbook arrangement,setting rules as well as the diversity of question patterns are summarized.Three aspects are mainly included in the paper: firstly,it is the compilation of Experiencing Chinese,which mainly introduces the textbook's main contents and modules;Secondly,it's about its specific compilation,including phonetics,vocabulary,grammar,exercises,text,etc;Thirdly,it comes to the compilation analysis and suggestions of Experiencing Chinese.Some practical teaching suggestions are put forward mainly through analyzing the textbook's compilation setting of each section.Based on the analysis of the textbook,the author found that the language points of the textbook are difficult,which are not suitable for elementary Chinese learners;The difficulty and quantity of the text and vocabulary meet the requirements of syllabus,which basically conform to the setting of elementary textbooks;The exercise pattern is single,so the quantity can be increased reasonably;Since the question number of exercises are often wrong,the textbook should be proofread more carefully.
