The language chunk theory is a popular topic in the research of second language acquisition in recent years.This paper,based on the teaching of reading in foreign Chinese,draws on the current findings and related research of chunk studies,taking chunk identification in HSK-6 Reading Comprehension Examination as a starting point,carrying out the practical research of applying the language chunk theory to the reading comprehension teaching of the sixth level of HSK.This paper,first of all,makes a brief introduction of the source and foundation of the chunks,analyzes from the aspects of the definition,classification and function of chunks.And it classifies language chunks into two types: fixed chunks and frame chunks according to the actual situation of the chunks;Secondly,the paper makes statistics and analysis of the language chunks in the reading comprehension of HSK-6.Finally,this paper summarizes the role of the language chunk theory in CFL reading,and applies chunk theory to the teaching of various types of questions according to the classification principle of question types.Based on theoretical research of language chunk and teaching practice,this paper will provide a reference for the follow-up research and application of language chunk in CFL reading teaching.
