This paper is based on the framework of Belgium linguist Verschueren's adaptation theory.The paper analyzes how advertisers achieve contextual adaptation to realize the goal of finding an ideal partner through the choices of context in the advertising process.From the literature study we can divide the online dating ads into two parts : linguistic context and communicative context.The communicative context mainly consists of five elements: ads users,the mental world,social world,culture world and physical world.I randomly selected 100 dating ads from the Baihe.comand Jiayuan.com.This article mainly elaborated the ads writer how to adapt to context to write asatisfactory ads.This paper will enable people to write attractive advertisement by applying to Adaptation Theory to find their ideal mate.
